Excerpt from a foremasthand's journal aboard the Azoth:
"...If Aibek is a good kid, Saule is a great one, though it almost feels strange to call them that. Despite the only two-year age gap between the two, Saule has the airs of a matured, weathered man, akin to many of the poor souls aboard this vessel. When they aren't on watch or holystoning the decks, they serve as a fine translator to those of us that haven't learned each others tongues well enough to communicate properly. It's no secret that Saule has been offered higher positioning on multiple occasions but has declined, likely to continue working alongside their brother (of course, a promotion would not tear them very far away, just across the deck, but if you told me the two were stitched at the hip I'd just as well believe you). The way they care for each other is unmatched to any relationship on this vessel[...] saule wouldn't seem protective to a stranger's eye, but I've come to see the way they keep an eye on him, always. And none of us will forget the days they spent quite literally sick with worry in the time after Aibek got burned by that foul serpent. Nor the stench..."
